The history of Dohle

1870

Founded by August Dohle and Josef Heinrich Dohle

Company Dohle was founded in 1870 by August Dohle and Josef Heinrich Dohle in Aachen, Germany.
Aachen was well known for its textile industry producing high quality fabrics. Consequently, company Dohle started to produce sewing machines, designed and developed in-house.

1950s

Move from Aachen to Eschweiler into the new bigger plant

The increasing sales made it necessary to increase production capabilities. The company moved it's location from Aachen to Eschweiler. The first Dohle rail mounted machine was developed and successfully brought into the market.

1970s

Development of bigger sewing machines especially for the carpet industry

The need for stronger sewing machines capable to sew carpets (especially tufted carpets) was early seen by Dohle.
A wide range of machines was developed to fit the customer's demands. Many of those machines are still running.

Today

Worldwide sales of Dohle sewing machines produced on modern CNC machinery

The machines are produced on modern CNC machines and assembled by hand.
This helps to maintain the quality of the products on a high level.
